  • Two white Animalia claw marks on both sides of the crown of his head
  • Various white Animalia tribal marks on the front and back of torso
    Lash scars across the back
Valgrim is a family man, he’s quick to call others his brothers and sisters believing we are all sons/daughters of Midgard. Often extending a judge free hand, he’s the type of person to give someone respect and honor until given a reason not too. He holds the brave in high regard.

He does not have the typical taste for violence one might think a Viking should have. In fact he refuses to wield a sword or an axe unless they can be used to harvest a crop, carve wood or fold steel.

He’s not one to pick a fight, however that does not mean he is without combat skill, he is very skilled in what could be considered boxing today and grappling. It was necessary to be able to fight in the times he lived. He has a disdain for the cruel, the bully or a forceful hand. Though a weapon still will never be clenched within his massive hands he will put on his armor and stand between the cruel and the defenseless like a “big brother.”

Coming from a culture of storytellers, Valgrim can be a bit animated at times as well. At the same time he’s masking the heartbreak of being separated from his wife and son. Often filling that void with the people around him within the Hope.

But when the sun fades and he’s alone to his thoughts, he thinks of them, the family he left behind and drinks until he falls asleep. Everytime he opens his eyes, when the sun rises the next morning, he looks to his left hoping that his wife will be laying next to him and that this was all a dream.

Source of Powers: Valgrim’s armor is imbued with the life force of mystical creatures imprinted upon him during his travel through Yggdrasil. The most dominant is Babe, the faithful companion to the late Paul Bunyan and an icon of strength. The Stag is a woodland creature with a healing touch and a former guardian of earth. Then finally there is the Phoenix, a cunning bird of legend noted for its speed and precision.

Superhuman Powers:

  • With a pound over his chest the call is made to invoke the aid of a powerful beast.
  • (Blue) Babe: grants Valgrim dexterity and endurance with slower yet massive attack power and strength.
  • (Green) The Stag: grants Valgrim the ability to heal by touch or through an area of effect healing aura, leaving Valgrim vulnerable but able to heal those around him.
  • (Red) The Phoenix: grants Valgrim increased speed and cunning with vicious striking accuracy.
  • When the chest plate is hit and the call is made he can not rapidly switch from one aura to the next. The animal and the soul of Valgrim become kindred spirits. The energy this takes is vast. It can be done, but it takes a toll on his body.
  • Underneath the aura is a man. When the aura fades Valgrim is exposed to the same risk of harm as you and me.
  • Trust. Valgrim is a man that lays trust to everyone first…right out the gate. He’s a gullible brute out of his time. A trust that’s kept until given a reason not to. However, at that point it could be too late.
  • Alcohol. Valgrim is a man torn from his family. For a man that constantly wonders of the fate left on his wife and child, drinking is this Vikings means to cope.
Horn of Mead Never empties. By traveling through time and space somehow this horn always returns back with the amount of mead it began with from its travels through Yggdrasil. An endless supply of alcohol is just what any Viking would love to have!

However, later as more stories are told we find out that these mythical creatures bonded with the man, not the armor. And the three entities of the hoof, paw and claw were not the only ones to take hold of Valgrim.
