Getting Started

COMMUNITY WIKI

Welcome! I wanted to congratulate you on your Arclight membership! We’re so excited to have you in the Community.

Below are a couple of quick guides to get you up and running.

Introductions

Be sure to head into the Introductions channel in the Community and introduce yourself. We’d love to welcome you!

Here are a few starting points to give you some ideas:

  • Who are you and where are you from?
  • How did you hear about the Community?
    • What do you hope to bring to it?
    • What do you hope to get out of it
  • What do you do currently?
    • What are you working on?
    • Any cool projects?
  • What’s the biggest struggle for you right now?
  • What’s next or what are you working towards?

Setting Up Your Profile

We want to see your face!

Often times we want to put pictures of our characters or other characters into our avatars, but it makes interacting with you limited. We want to see you and embrace who you are, so we encourage you to use an actual image of yourself in your avatar.

We want to know your name!

It’s also common practice to use a pen name or to go by an online alias. We’d prefer that you use your real first and last name. Again, this just adds another level of personal interaction and communication when we know we’re talking to a real person.
